The complexity associated with the design of urban tissues is driven by multitude goals that influence development and growth. This amplified being inherently conflicting, necessitating preference-based decisions within process—an approach results in predetermined solutions personal biases. utility population-based optimisation algorithms addresses this allowing for examination multiple conflicting objectives same problem, negating need trade-off between goals. application these three primary steps. first formulation second algorithm, third selecting most optimal solution from algorithm’s output. paper examines step process, which various methods are employed to facilitate data-driven selection mechanisms both objective as well subjective their formulation. demonstrated on a speculative tissue potential inhabiting interstitial spaces, through morphological interventions, fabric. present scalable adaptable framework assists designers employing multi-objective evolutionary (MOEAs) select generated populations, challenge commonly MOEAs design.
